Mehvish Zahoor defies societal norms to pursue passion for calligraphy and mehndi design
Mehvish Zahoor is an aspiring calligrapher and mehandi designer from Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir. Academicly she is in class 11th. Since, from the childhood, painting and drawings was her hobby
When she grew up, She began to pursue calligraphy and mehndi design as well. Mehvish Zahoor discussed this decision with her parents and they fully supported her. She then created her own Instagram page and started marketing her business on the platform.
While having a conversation with AUYK Blogs, She said “I faced criticism and negativity from people who demotivated me by saying that being a girl, I should not pursue these interests.
They also doubted my artistic abilities and told me to focus on my studies for the sake of my father's honor. Despite this, I chose to ignore their words and continue with my work. My father gave me the courage to believe in myself and reassured me that I would become a great artist one day”
Now, she is a very good artist, and hope to become even greater in the future, with the grace of Allah. She aspire to make her parents proud.
She want her parents to proudly say that “I am their daughter”
To my audience, I want to say that it is important to believe in yourself and your talents. Do not listen to others who try to bring you down, and keep striving towards your goals."
