Bangalore, Karnataka – In the vibrant nightlife of Bangalore, DJ Shams stands out as a beacon of talent and resilience. With over eight years of experience, DJ Shams has played at more than 15 popular pubs across the city, earning a reputation as the best DJ in Bangalore.
His journey began in his school days, where he discovered his love for music and computers. Assembling computers and installing operating systems became his way of earning pocket money, making just 350 rupees a month. While he dreamt of opening a computer peripheral store, fate had other plans.
After his 10th exams, Shams started freelancing, providing door-to-door computer services. Alongside, he pursued his love for dance, editing songs with Adobe Audition for his performances. Despite his passion, his parents' lack of support for his dancing career was a significant setback.
In his second year of college, a chance encounter with a school junior introduced him to DJing. His first performance at a college fest, where 2,000 people danced to his beats, cemented his decision to pursue DJing as a career. He joined Party Map DJ Academy, excelling as the top-scoring DJ.
Finding gigs was initially challenging, and Shams faced numerous setbacks. Working as a DJ for noon parties didn't bring the success he hoped for. A turning point came when he met Sonu, who offered him a chance to headline a major Desi Holi event. Although things didn’t work out between them initially, Shams continued to persevere, working as an in-house DJ and assisting at weddings.
The pandemic brought further challenges, halting the entertainment industry. Yet, Shams adapted, providing door-to-door computer services, delivering food, and working as a bike taxi to make ends meet. His passion for music remained undiminished. He conducted Instagram live sessions during lockdowns and collaborated on a friend’s YouTube channel.
Determined to revive his DJ career, Shams reached out to Sonu again. This time, he got the opportunity to do opening sets, which led to playing main sets and securing gigs at some of Bangalore’s top clubs. His journey, filled with highs and lows, is a testament to his dedication and resilience.

He believes that with determination and hard work, one can overcome any obstacle.
