A two-day championship of 9th Pencak Silat District Championship (Budgam) 2024 concluded on August 29th, at the Indoor Stadium Budgam.
The championship was organized by the Pencak Silat Association District Budgam under the banner of the Pencak Silat Association of J&K.
More than 500 players (boys and girls) of various age groups (singa, macan, preteen, prejunior, junior, senior) from different schools and clubs participated in the championship.
Javid Ahmad, Divisional Sports Officer J&K, was the chief guest of the event. "Guest of Honour: Mr. Rayees Ahmad, Coach of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Pencak Silat’ was also present there however , CEO, Indian Pencak Silat Federation, and Saima Jaan (DDC B. K Pora Budgam) were guests of honour.
Aatif Ayoub, media incharge, while briefing mediapersons said that The players showcased their skills and sportsman spirit throughout the championship and selected participants will now compete in the State Championship against participants from other districts of J&K.
He said that The Pencak Silat Association District Budgam, in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, ensured a fair and equal treatment of all participants, making the event a huge success.
Further, he congratulated the association and participants on the success of the event and wished them luck for future endeavors.
